Dear DUSD Families,
This holiday season, Delhi High School is organizing a Toy Drive benefiting Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, and we invite our Delhi community to participate!
Donated toys, games, and activities help bring comfort and joy to children spending time in the hospital. This effort is especially meaningful because families right here in our district have experienced extended stays at Valley Children’s.
What Can You Donate?
The hospital serves children from infancy through their teenage years. Suggested donations include:
Infants and toddlers: Rattles, teething toys, board books, stacking toys, and sensory toys.
Elementary-age children: LEGO sets, coloring books, crayons, puzzles, board games, stuffed animals, and craft kits.
Tweens and teenagers: Journals, sketchbooks, art supplies, card games, LEGO sets, and creative activity kits.
Clothing donations are also welcome! Valley Children’s Volunteer Services accepts new or gently used clothing, including pajamas, sweatpants, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and socks in children’s sizes.
Important Donation Guidelines
All toys, games, crafts, and other non-clothing items must be brand new and unused.
Items must come from a smoke-free and pet-free environment.
Previously stored items cannot be accepted.
Clothing may be new or gently used, according to the hospital’s guidelines.
Hospital staff will distribute all donations to protect patient health and privacy. Donors cannot distribute items directly to patients.
Where to Donate
Please drop off donations at the Delhi High School front office (Ed Park). If you have a larger donation or need help coordinating a pickup, please contact the office for assistance connecting with the toy drive organizer.
Delivery to Valley Children’s is tentatively planned for Tuesday, December 15, during the week before winter break. Please bring donations before the planned delivery date.
Participation is voluntary, and every donation—big or small—can help brighten a child’s hospital stay. Thank you for helping us share the kindness and generosity of our Delhi community this holiday season!
